Through my job as an Associate Lecturer (also known as an AL or HPL -Hourly Paid Lecturer-), I realised there were a lot of ambiguities and questions that had built up over the years: things I wished I had known to ask when I started the role. This list was complied through discussions with other Associate Lecturers from a number of UK universities.
